KSB AWARDS is an annual online surf event that showcases surfing talent across the Philippines though the ecommerce market place www.KSBoardriders.com. We bring the best brands and surfers in the Philippines together each year to award the “KS Boardriders Award”.

Typhoons and Monsoon winds light up our playground all around the Philippines. We are blessed with a long season of tropical weather with large swells from the Pacific and West Philippine Sea.

The Philippines is home to some of the best upcoming surfers. With surfing now gaining more recognition, as it made its debut at the recent 2020 Olympic Games, we want our athletes to excel in the sport, culture, and the right attitude at an international level.

KSBoardriders.com is on the lookout for the stand out surfers of the season. With islands of pumping surf all around the Philippines, we want to discover up and coming surfers, as well as experienced surfers, as they bust the biggest air, pull into the largest pit, or style their way across a wave.

HOW TO JOIN

1.Post a video or image sequence of any or all of the following categories through Instagram and Facebook.

a)Post on Instagram and Facebook & Tagging the #KSBAwards and #Category Tags below.

Include: Name of Rider and Videographer/photographer.

2. Photo entries are accepted if they show the full completion from start to finish.

3. For a chance to the Best shot or Best wipe out shot of the Season, invite your friends to like your entry on Instagram. The images with the top 10 likes will then be randomly drawn.

PRIZES

Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsors’ sole discretion. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason.

RULES & REGULATIONS

Entry is free and is open to all Philippine residents of 3 years or more.
Videographer does not need to be a resident of the Philippines.
Video or photo sequence must tag on Instagram #KSBAwards
Video or photo sequence must have been taken in the Philippines between September 2021 to April 1, 2023. AWARDING DAY IS to be announced after APRIL 1, 2023.
Video or photo sequence must be original. The participant must be the author of the footage submitted with no edits or watermarks.
Submissions must be filmed with a video or sequential shots.
All entries must be based in the PHILIPPINES ONLY and note the region. Luzon, Visayas or Mindanao. (No need for specific location names).

By participating, Surfers and Videographers acknowledge they are participating at their own risk and that neither KS Boardriders, Kudo Surf nor any Sponsor is responsible for any physical harm or death that may befall any Surfer or Videographer as a result of participation in these contests.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

Judges will not be allowed to judge if any of the participants are immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children).

This is free surf only. No footage filmed during a surf competition or event will be allowed.

It is prohibited to use representation of third party intellectual properties, including but not limited to logos, brands, characters, images, and styles.

JUDGING AND RESULTS

Photos selected by the judges are final. Kudo Surf and KSBoardriders along with the Judges reserves the right to refuse all correspondence pertaining to the selection process and decision.

Judges will evaluate the images based on the following criteria:

– Wave Size (25%);

– Degree of Difficulty of Maneuvers (25%);

– Style (25%)

– Overall “Heaviness” Factor (25%).

Judges reserves the right not to award the prizes if the images submitted do not meet the requirements.

Judges will be from 3 separate regions. 1 x Luzon or 1 x Visayas or 1 x Mindanao or 1 x Foreigner.

VIDEO / IMAGE TECHNICAL STANDARDS

Participant may submit multiple entries but only one per wave.

All entries must be submitted via Instagram with Hashtag #KSBAwards & corresponding Category Tag, and facebook.com
Must contain videographer’s / photographer’s name. No need to add location.

All video entries must be uploaded in native raw form, as shot on the camera. The Submission should be shot in HD or Higher Resolution (720p, 1080p, 2.5k, 4k)

The Submission must not be edited.

The Submission must be submitted without any watermarks.
